The Eat At Home Alabama website is the creation of the Alabama Grocers Association to provide a resource to consumers on how to save money, eat healthier, enrich your life and promote the grocery industry in the state of Alabama.

The Alabama Grocers Association is a state trade association representing the grocery industry since 1992. With over 120 retail members operating nearly 1,000 stores statewide, as well as over 180 manufacturers, brokers, wholesalers and other members, the AGA is truly the voice of the industry. AGA is completely dedicated to assisting our members in all areas of the industry and committed to staying on top of the issues that face our members on a day to day basis.

The mission of the Alabama Grocers Association is to promote and support the growth and success of the food industry in the state of Alabama by representing its members before legislative and regulatory bodies, proactively seeking and offering education, goods and informative services that promote the best interest of its members and to communicate publicly on behalf of its members on industry related issues.

They will be giving away three hundred EatAtHomeAlabama.com reusable grocery bags at Piggly Wiggly in Mountain Brook, Alabama, located at 3800 River Run Drive, Mountain Brook, AL 35243, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2010.

The Eat at Home Alabama website was created by the Alabama Grocers Association as a tool for consumers to learn how to save money, eat healthier, safely prepare and store your foods, enrich your life and promote the grocery industry in the state of Alabama.

Moore’s Marinade, which is the May sponsor of the website, will be sampling marinated steaks, handing out recipes and .55 coupons in the store from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Moore’s Marinade was introduced forty years ago at a steakhouse in Jasper.

The Alabama Grocers Association has launched a new Web site, www.EatAtHomeAlabama.com, which was created as a tool for consumers to learn how to save money, eat healthier, safely prepare and store foods, and discover the joys and benefits of eating at home, as well as to promote the grocery industry in the state of Alabama.

Site features include Why Eat at Home, Ways to Save Money, coupons, recipes to feed a family of four for around $20, a list of Alabama products, a chart on when fruits and vegetables are in season, recall information, and a food safety section with tips on storing food in the refrigerator and freezer, in addition to information on keeping fruits and vegetables fresh. Each month there will be a new sponsor and new recipes.

The Alabama grocery industry is drawing traffic to the site by printing www.EatAtHomeAlabama.com on the bottom of their receipts, adding links to their Web sites, and putting up signage featuring the Eat At Home Alabama logo at the register and in the store, so that consumers will know where to go to for money-saving tips.
